Maintenance Shutdowns
When a lot needs to be done during a shutdown – on schedule and safely
Expert Partner for Industrial Shutdown Work
Maintenance shutdowns are critical phases in industrial production. There is often only a limited time window during which machines and equipment are serviced, replaced, or reinstalled. Everything must happen efficiently, systematically, and without compromising safety – because production stoppage is costly.
Eilola Logistics specializes in shutdown work where the schedule for lifts, transfers, and installations is precisely defined. We plan every work phase together with the client and ensure the project progresses in a controlled manner, in the right order, and without delays.
Typical shutdown sites include power plants, pulp mills, refineries, data centers, production halls, and other heavy industry where production stops only rarely – and only briefly.

Equipment and Solutions for Shutdown Environments
Shutdowns require maximum performance from both equipment and personnel. We provide heavy-duty cranes up to 215 ton-meters, electric mini cranes and crawlers for indoor tasks, plus winches, spreaders, and electric specialty tools for precision handling. When needed, outreach extends up to 54.5 meters with extra jib.
Electric and low-profile solutions enable work even in closed or weight-restricted spaces – without emissions or noise. If needed, we use steering trailers and extension carts, enabling movement in tight and difficult-to-access sites.

Precise Planning and Smooth Cooperation
Lifts during maintenance shutdowns require exceptional precision. All work phases are planned in advance, considering workspaces, routes, weight limits, and the movements and needs of other operators.
Our drivers are experienced shutdown workers and used to cooperating with installation teams, maintenance, and other production staff. Good cooperation in the field results in smooth workflow and staying on schedule—and pre-calculation gives operations management confidence that the crane arriving on site is the right size and fully suitable for the task.

Lift Planning and Modeling
We use multiple lift planning and modeling tools to visualize lifts before the shutdown begins. For Hoeflon equipment, we also use the HOEFlink® system to pre-verify capacity, reach, and outrigger ground pressures. Pre-planning helps identify risks, secure the work sequence, and select the right equipment for each phase.
With modeling, we can verify lift paths, reaches, and space usage in advance, helping the site progress without unnecessary interruptions. At the same time, we coordinate the work phases of different contractors safely and efficiently.
When required, we also provide written lift plans in line with authority requirements. This keeps shutdown execution controlled, documentation in order, and lifts on schedule from start to finish.

Safety and Certified Lift Planning
Safety is our primary value – especially during shutdowns, when the work environment is often more intense than usual. Our operations meet ISO 9001 quality management requirements, and we strictly follow all occupational safety regulations.
Lift supervisors and planners are accredited according to ISO 23813. This ensures they have the required training and competence for risk management and safe execution of lifts – even in the most demanding shutdown sites.
If needed, we prepare site-specific lift plans, handle permits, and take care of documentation for authorities. Our company also has RALA qualification, confirming our quality, reliability, and safety – so you can focus on restarting your production.

We serve all of Finland flexibly
Our locations in Porvoo and Tornio enable comprehensive lifting services throughout Finland. Most of our projects are located in the industrial areas of Southern and Northern Finland within the reach of these cities.
